- territorial management
Overview
WinEDT is a desktop/laptop based territorial management system for Windows designed to allow fast, flexible management of geographic data (raster, vector, GPS, etc.). The system is specifically aimed to the applications requiring land shape data, and supports variable step elevation matrix models (DEMs). Model subsets can be selected in order to produce a current DEM (Digital Elevation Model) for faster and more flexible processing. WinEDT uses a list of pre-defined data presentation levels which can be easily user activated. These levels include differently processed DEM model data, administrative borders and names, ... Furthermore, users may add custom made data by addressing independent matrix files (such as numeric raster mapping, see WinGEO), georeferenced elements (such as bitmaps, texts, polygons, etc.) through external ASCII files and data returned by a GPS receiver.
With the addition of two external modules, the system also allows direct management of the DeAgostini 1:250,000 raster mapping of Italy and – at much higher scale – of several Italian towns.
