- power lines generated magnetic field simulation.
2D/3D power line representation, geometric bearings schema, Magnetic isofield representation.
Overview
WinELF is a software module developed to calculate magnetic field induction generated by one or more power lines.
Power lines information (mechanical, geometric and electric) is the input the software accepts to display it over real territorial data.
WinELF returns magnetic field value, that can be evaluated in several ways: over the orographic model, over a vertical plane, over an horizontal plane that is perpendicular to bearings, and as an isosurface.
Features
Main features
- Database: WinELF manages power distribution lines data and stores magnetic field analysis data. The geospatial database describes in details one or more power distribution networks. Stored information is: providers, electric lines, trunks, wires, threads and bearings according to the National Registry for electromagnetic pollution sources (RTI CTN-AGF 4/2001). Bearings schemas helps users to insert geometric parameters.
- Calculation models: Magnetic field calculation is carried out according to the CEI 211-4 Recommendation, or by numerical integration along power lines.
- Magnetic field representation: Besides the calculation performed, as above explained, on different planes magnetic field analysis can also be performed in one point or in several points (batch mode).
- Technical reporting: WinELF features automatic reporting, for technical documentation in Excel format with associated images/graphics from every calculation performed.
- Export: Both power lines (spans and bearings) and magnetic field isolines can be exported in Shapefile format. Besides, calculation results can be exported as ArcView grid (ASCII format) to be easily imported from ESRI tools.
- Limit boundaries: It’s possible to get limit boundaries according to the Italian norm (APAT nov/04) that point them as the vertical projections at ground level of space regions defined by isofield surfaces having magnetic induction of 3 µT as actual value. And it is as well possible getting isofield surfaces corresponding to a certain threshold.
Advantages
- Reducing time-consuming tasks: For example, you can save simulations (both bidimensional and tridimensional) and recall them as you need, without any further activity.
- Reducing work load: WinRPT’s interface is easy to understand and straightforward to use. Besides, many activities, such as report and graphs generation have been simplified to get instantly technical reports for any needs.
- Continuos upgrading: Vector grant technical improvements of its products through a convenient upgrading policy, by including it in purchase or leasing conditions.
- Experience: Vector’s products have been adopted by many Telecom operators in the world, and even the Italian Communication Authority is currently using them as standard products for licenses regulation.
